The winter of 2009 went out with a bang for the Boondockers team. We headed up to British Columbia to ride with Dan Davidoff and the Krazy Canadians last weekend and there couldn’t have been a better way to end the season. It was probably one of our last trips of the year, and everyone rode like it. This afternoon I rode with Shane Kynaston. We got in a good dose of spring riding, with plenty of big climbs, technical pulls, and even a few big drops and jumps. While many riders have already hung it up by this time of year, we usually ride until the end. For me, late spring conditions are the icing on the cake at the end of the year. Spring snow may not be deep powder, but it gives you the opportunity to point the sled uphill and get technical in the trees and chutes that would have been untouchable in deep snow, especially on stock sleds. .... The only fools around here yesterday were the ones that didn’t go riding. We found 2-3ft. of new snow at the upper elevations in Utah. You know its a good day when you don’t leave until 3pm and still come back to the truck with an empty tank! Unfortunately I will be sitting out the weekend storm (Another 2-3ft. of snow forecasted…) with a broken primary clutch, so be sure to make some extra turns and jumps for me!....
