Boondockers BCSSAR Fundraiser This Weekend!!

Hey, we’ve got everything planned and ready for this weekend. All of us, Klim, SLP, Powerlabs, S&R, SnoWest and Boondockers have planned a sweet event this weekend. Its a fundraiser for the Bonneville Search and Rescue, we’re doing a bunch of raffles to raise money, in the raffles you can win a new .45 pistol or .22 rifle, so many raffle prizes by Boondocker Turbo, 2 Cool Air Vents, Klim, Classic Auto, Toyskinz, ZBroz Racing, Fly Racing, Mountain Addiction. First Tracks of the Year

Just 4 days ago I was running in 70 degree temperatures and sunny weather, that was before “Brutus.”  Starting last Friday a potent winter storm (“Brutus”) parked itself over portions of Northern Utah.  As the intial snow reports came in the sledding community was abuzz with excitement.  By the time the first foot was down, several local sledders had a mild seizure due to the over-excitement.  At the 2 foot mark, my phone started to ring with messages about riding plans for the weekend.  At this point, I held off on riding plans for the weekend, noting to my fellow riders my vast experience and citing the dangers of riding in 2 feet of powder with no base.  On Saturday, lake effect snow from the Great Salt Lake kicked into full gear and the snow totals kept climbing.  Somewhere between 3 and 4 feet, I did a 180 and changed my mind about  the dangers of riding with no base.  Suddenly I was leading the charge for a Monday ride and feverishly checking snow reports and webcams..... Indian Summer

For the last week and a half, temperatures in Utah have been in the low 70s, about 20 degrees above normal. With the exception of the short days, this is perfect weather for getting out for a few last mountain bike rides, dirt bike trips, trail runs, or even fly fishing.
