It’s hard to believe that the snowmobiling season is just around the corner, but I woke up this morning to find the tips of Utah’s Wasatch Mountains covered with a dusting of snow. Although it was a balmy 100 degrees just a few days ago, it is suddenly jacket weather and for the rest of the year I will be dreaming about that first ride in 2ft. of cold smoke.

Today’s unseasonably cold weather is sure to be only a fleeting glimpse of what is to come in several months, but the imagination always runs wild at the first snowfall of the year. While I look forward to the next season and the endless possibilities in store for the winter, there is a part of me that would like to hold on to the summer months and return to all of the unconquered mountains and untouched rivers that I never found the time to explore this year.
But as the clouds break and reveal the mountain peaks painted in white, there is really only one thing on my mind…
Pray for snow! Check out a few pictures from our summer in the meantime.
